Introduction
The Kernel-Boot-Logo enhancements provide a kernel patch to
enable some additional optional framebuffer logo features:
- logo centering
- logo animation
- text cursor disable
Also included is the xpm2splash program that
generates linux_logo.h files from XPM files. One can replace the linux_logo.h
that comes with the patch by her/his own still-images or animations.
Replace linux/include/linux_logo.h Husen till salu i Hua Hin by the new logo
header file generated with xpm2splash, do a "touch
linux/drivers/video/fbcon.c" and remake your kernel.
The kernel patch and xpm2splash are distributed
under the terms of the `GNU General Public License' (GPL).
Note
Even if the kernel patch is for a clean kernel 2.4.1
source tree we have found it working with: 2.4.0, 2.4.2,
2.4.3, 2.4.4. And it will work fine until there are major
changes in linux/drivers/video/fbcon.c.
